Building your dreams since 1995.

From a battery workshop in Shenzhen to the world's largest electric-vehicle manufacturer — 3.84 million vehicles delivered, 82 countries served, one operating system for clean mobility.

Our story

A battery company that happened to build cars.

BYD — "Build Your Dreams" — was founded in 1995 as a rechargeable-battery manufacturer. Three decades later, we're the only automaker in the world that makes its own batteries, motors, chips, and vehicles end-to-end.

This vertical integration is the reason we ship safer cells, charge faster, and scale cheaper than the rest of the industry. It's also why 3.84 million drivers chose us in 2025 alone.

Today we operate 33 industrial parks across six continents, ship to 82 countries, and offer the public four ways to participate in our growth — from buying a vehicle to owning a share of the company that builds it.

What we stand for

Three pillars. One mission.

Everything we make — from a Blade cell to a luxury sedan to a pooled-fund share — answers to the same three commitments.

01 · SAFETY

Zero thermal runaway.

The Blade Battery passes the nail-penetration test — no smoke, no flame. It's the highest safety benchmark in the industry, and it's standard across every BYD passenger vehicle.

02 · ACCESS

Four ways in.

Giveaway, installments, discounted demo sales, and global shipping — engineered so anyone, anywhere can own a BYD or invest in the company that builds them.

03 · PLANET

Engineered out of emissions.

14.2M tons of CO₂ avoided in 2025. Operational net-zero targeted for 2032. We don't offset — we remove the source.
